Photo Tour - July 2016
It is our privilege to share with you a personal photo tour of the new
Rideout Regional Medical Center, a world class healthcare complex designed
to serve the Yuba-Sutter community and our surrounding region for generations to come.
The Rideout Regional Medical Center was designed to nurture not just the
body, but the mind and spirit as well. The soaring two-story lobby brings
in sunlight that highlights natural elements such as beautiful wood and
nature-inspired colors of the furnishings and walls. The comfortable waiting
areas are enhanced by original art, a new gift shop offering fresh flowers
and a self-playing piano (piano donated by the Rotary Club of Yuba City).
Our New Café
Miss Southerns' Memorial Café ... was named in honor of the nurse who was Rideouts' first Administrator.
The Cafés' elegant design includes historical displays and
large windows that look out on an outdoor seating area, integrating indoor
and outdoor dining experiences. The expanded menu, which includes a coffee
bar, pizza station, grill and salad bar, puts an emphasis on healthy eating,
all overseen by Rideouts' in-house professional chef.
Rideout Emergency Department, Trauma
As a Level III Trauma Center, Rideout has 24-hour in-house staffing by physicians and surgeons, trained
in trauma and emergency medicine, as well as on-call coverage for specialties
such as cardiology, cardiac surgery, orthopedics, and neurosurgery. With
our new facility not all patients with serious injuries or conditions
will arrive by ambulance — our new rooftop helipad allows us to
receive patients from farther afield, as well as transport our patients
with specialized needs to specialty centers more expeditiously. The helipad’s
dedicated elevator whisks patients right to the ED, where the appropriate
Rideout team will have assembled to begin treatment.
The opening of the new Ridout Regional Medical Center building allows for
the further expansion of our emergency department and trauma service,
adding 16 additional beds and an expanded triage area. All diagnostic
and treatment areas are now located in close proximity to provide even
faster care to our patients.
The Family Birth Center Well Baby Nursery and Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit
Two floors are dedicated to the celebration of new life.
The fifth floor offers labor & delivery rooms, two C-section rooms, an ante-partum
testing unit and triage. During labor, mothers will be accommodated in
a beautiful private room designed for maximum comfort for her and accompanying
family members. All offer comfortable seating for guests, a private restroom,
a convertible couch for overnight stays and large windows for healing sunlight.
Following delivery, all mothers and babies move to the
fourth floor to private suites until they are ready to go home. Each suite has its
own private bathroom and shower, and is large enough to accommodate a
bassinet as well as your family members who want to enjoy these special
moments. The fourth floor also includes a well-baby nursery, and a brand
new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
State-of-the-Art Technology and Equipment
In furtherance of the Rideout family legacy of giving, we have made an
unprecedented investment in equipment, technology and clinical services
to create a patient-centered environment of care that supports our mission
to improve the well-being of everyone in our community, regardless of
their circumstances or ability to pay.
Diagnostic Imaging Technology
Sophisticated diagnostic imaging technology valued at tens of millions
of dollars — but priceless in terms of patient care — has
been installed, strategically located between the emergency and trauma
departments for fast turnaround. The new equipment is the most advanced
available -- and includes
- 2 new ultrafast CT scanners capable of imaging an entire organ in a single pass
- New state of the art MRI machine
- Portable and fixed digital X-ray systems that produce higher resolution
images with lower radiation exposures
- Ultrasound systems that provide unmatched image quality and shorter exam times
- Two nuclear medicine cameras
The opening of our three angiography suites on floor two will expand and
enrich our cardiovascular services with fully digital angiography systems
that provide the
least-invasive techniques available to diagnose and treat vascular disease
both in the heart and elsewhere in the body. In situations where the value
of a medical
intervention is dependent on how quickly it can be provided, these new
suites are optimized for both speed and efficiency The second floor also
includes a new 10
bed prep and recovery suite; two new endoscopy suites and twenty new private
in-patient care suites.
