Celebrity Chuck Smith
and Pro Samantha "Sammy" Dake

Celeb., Chuck Smith

Chuck was born in Yuba City and grew up in Linda. He worked as a sports writer and news reporter for The Appeal-Democrat from 1975 through 1986, then attended and graduated from UC Davis with a degree in history. After college he met and married Linda Plummer, and their blended family includes three children and four grandchildren. They live in a 100-year-old home in West Marysville. He worked as a public employee union representative for 10 years, and currently is the Public Information Officer for the County of Sutter. He produced the documentary, “The Sutter County Flood of 1955,” and will be president of the South Yuba County Sunrise Rotary Club on July 1. “This has been a fabulous experience, I encourage everyone to give it a try. Just be smart enough to have Sammy Dake as a partner.”

Happy, personable, confident and adorable -- Sammy was born to dance well she says “I didn’t have much choice. I was sentenced to life as a dancer and choreographer. Why? Because … I am Jacque Dake’s daughter and her faithful slave.” Samantha graduated from Washington State University in 2013, majoring in Psychology and Criminal Justice. She’s back in Yuba City now working for the Yuba County Office of Education, as a Para Educator for a Moderate-Severe Special Ed Preschool. In-between, she works as a dance teacher and choreographer at Jacque’s Dance Expressions.

Celebrity Londa Lamb with Pro Tim Davis

Celeb., Londa Lamb

Sports enthusiast and Yuba City native Londa works at the Yuba City Unified School District. Londa is very involved in sports, helping with programs like Homers For the Hungry – Max Stassi and the YCHS and RVHS Athletic programs. Londa told us that in 1987, while working at American Savings on Plumas Street, she was robbed at gun-point. She turned that scary experience into a positive for others by making a training video with the FBI teaching bankers and others how to take the right actions during a bank robbery. She and her husband David Lamb and their children live in Yuba City.

Pro, Timothy Davis

Tim – always the jokester says, “at one time, I lived in a cabinet under the stairs.” When we asked him about his studies he told us “I used to study those Waldo Books but I was never able to find him.” Well, after that we figured anything else he told us -- probably – not true. According to Tim, he’s worked as an Ink Mixer and has issues with staying focused. He once starred in an Indy Film, “The Cliffside Runaway”. What we know for sure is Tim is our Cast Coordinator, Amanda Blanchard’s, boyfriend.

Celebrity Michael Pasquale

Celeb., Michael K. Pasquale

Michael, a native of Yuba City, was born at the old Fremont hospital on the corner of 20th and Plumas in Yuba City. He attended local schools and graduated from Chico State with a degree in Fine Art. During Mike’s teenage years, he says, “I was a REAL Cowboy”. Michael is a Yuba City contractor at Pasquale Construction and he owns New Adventures Preschool with his wife Stephanie. Michael is a proud board member of the Yuba Community College District. He says, “I’m terrible at asking for help and I am best known for being married to Stephanie.”

Pro, Michele Blake

Talented, lovely and community minded Michele, is a native of Yuba-Sutter. She graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Kinesiology and earned a master’s in Exercise Physiology from CSU, Chico. Michele is the director of the Sutter County Children and Families Commission. She is an avid tennis player and a musical theater buff. She is a commissioner for the Yuba City Parks and Recreation Department and serves on Friends of Yuba City Parks and Recreation and various local and state health coalitions.

Celeb., Fritzie Desmond Rhody

Fritzie is described by many as loyal, energetic and sweet. True! In fact, she’s got so much energy, she has been running her pro partner Gabe in circles. Fritizie is a Yuba-Sutter native who works as an instructor at the Yuba City Racquet and Health Club and at Northside Fitness as an Aerobics Instructor. She is a member of the Alpha Sigma Community Sorority. She is married to Rick Rhody who is Senior Vice President at Sun Valley Rice Co., LLC. This beautiful couple resides in Yuba City with their three adorable children.

Pro., Gabe Ramirez

Compassionate, enthusiastic – and easy on the eyes. Gabe was born and raised in Yuba City where he began dancing when he was only seven-years-old at Colleen’s Dance Factory. Gabe has enjoyed a career as a dancer in both television and film. In addition to performing as a Wave Revue Dancer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Gabe has danced in productions such as The Nutcracker and a US Tour of A Chorus Line. In 2007, Gabe graduated from University of California Davis with a BA in Communication Studies and in 2010 from California State University, Sac with a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Gabe currently resides in the Bay Area where he is a Team Coordinator for a Pharmaceutical Consulting Services Firm.

Celebrity Jodie Beck with Pro Adnre Lincon

Celeb., Jodie Musser Beck

Jodie is known as strong willed, witty and trustworthy. We add: She has a beautiful smile. She was born and raised in Newton Kansas and earned her BA in Communication - TV and Radio Broadcasting at Wichita State University. Jodie is the Yuba-Sutter CHP Public Information Officer. She says, “I try to be a positive influence for local youth. Programs I support are Start Smart, DUI Awareness, Distracted Driving and Every 15 Minutes.” Jodie told us that once she went scuba diving with sharks. Yikes.

Pro., Andre Lincon

Patient and even-tempered, Sutter County Sheriff Deputy, Andre Lecon is originally from Utah. But, now he lives in Yuba City and is proud to be involved in Law Enforcement and to serve the people in our community. He says, “I feel challenged when it comes to interacting with hypocritical people”. Something people don’t know about Andre, is that his absolute favorite thing to drink is chocolate milk.

and Pro Adrian Uribe

Celeb., Joelle Fuhrmann

Enthusiastic, motivated and creative, Joelle was born and raised in Muenster, Texas. She studied Environmental Engineering at Texas Tech University, where she received the McAuley Distinguished Engineering Student Award in 2011. Joelle is now a Civil Engineer Officer in the United States Air Force, Travis AFB. She says, “I am proud to be involved in the Society of American Military Engineers, a professional military engineering association that unites architecture, engineering, construction, facility management and more to prepare for and overcome natural and man-made disasters, and to improve security at home and abroad.”

Pro, Adrian Uribe

Originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, dashing Adrian owns and operates, with his family, Exer-son Studio in Yuba City. His goal – and the goal of Exer-Son -- is to help folks improve their health and quality of life, and to bring awareness to ones overall wellness. Adrian describes himself as “a renaissance man with wide and varied interest who studies many things – including dance.” He is also a 3rd Degree Taekwondo Black Belt.

Amy says, “I’ve been a realtor all of my adult life – and I continue to study real estate.” Amy is an active board member of the Sutter Yuba Association of Realtors and next year will be the president of the association. She says, “I have an aversion to eating vegetables and I have no formal college education, so I read a lot instead!” Amy makes friends wherever she goes – even in cyber-land through her entertaining Facebook posts. She says, “I have a wealth of random facts and useless information. I’m also a spiritual and personal growth junkie.” Everyone loves Amy and her friendly and outgoing personality.

Pro, Kevin William Schauer

Open, friendly and always helpful, Kevin has lived in Yuba City his entire life. He studied to be a teacher at CSU and works at the Yuba City Unified School District as “the teacher with a guitar”. Besides being a great dancer and educator, Kevin plays guitar and sings. He also tutors young musicians. He told us he has only nine and a half toes. But, we know for sure that he doesn’t have two left feet.

Jennifer Hilleary and Pro Nick Hughes

Celeb., Jennifer Hilleary

Fun loving Jennifer has lived in Yuba City her whole life. She studied nursing at Yuba College, graduated from Chico State with a Bachelor’s in Nursing and currently works at the Rideout Cancer Center. She says, “I feel so fortunate to care for the most wonderful group of patients – and to be able to work with awesome people.” Jennifer has been involved with Relay for Life and Making Strides for Breast Cancer for many years. Jennifer is best known for her love of Disneyland, Disco Balls & Dancing … and of course she’s known for her wonderful family.

Pro., Nick Hughes

Funny man Nick says, “I studied the locations of bars in Chico extensively and also Political Science and International Relations at CSU.” Nick describes his personal traits as patient, kind, polite and rarely late … great at run-on sentences … and single. He’s an accomplished ballroom dancer, too.

Celeb., Robert Ozenberger

Robert is the Director of Transportation at the Yuba City Unified School District. He says he is proud to be involved in the Adopt-A-Family Program where each year his department identifies needy families in the district to make their Christmas special. He and his team purchase gifts for family members and also provide them a holiday meal. Robert is an outgoing, happy and fun person who loves to dance.

Pro., Cyndi Shatswell

Vivacious Cyndi, lived in Tyler Texas for most of her life. Lucky for us, she now lives in Yuba City where she works as a Group Exercise and Pilates Director at Yuba City Racquet Club. Cyndi graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BA in Management and an MBA in Business. Cyndi has first hand experience with the perils of cancer, as she was only 18 years old when her beloved mother died from breast cancer. She is a dedicated advocate for a cure, and is a proud volunteer for Race for the Cure, and Girls’ On the Run.

Celeb., Josh Ellersick

Josh Ellersick is a native of Maxwell. He once lived in San Francisco where he studied Computer Animation -- but not before he worked as a Carnie. Josh now works at Colusa Casino Resort where he is truly going the extra mile by competing in Dance With Our Stars, which is hosted by Colusa Casino. Josh declared, “I am very shy, and I am feeling very challenged when it comes to dancing – that’s how I got into this – to overcome.” Josh is very funny and is well known for his “smart mouth”.

Pro., Cheylene DellaMaggiore

A Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts alum, Chey is funny, outgoing, theatrical and really cute. She’s also an amazing dancer. Chey is a trained jazz, ballet, modern, hip-hop and tap dancer. A recent graduate from Chico State University, Chey studied Microbiology and Criminal Justice – and -- Business. She says, “I changed majors a lot!” According to Chey, she teaches the BEST HIP-HOP CLASS in Yuba-Sutter at Jacque’s Dance Expressions in Yuba City.”

Celeb. Martha Griese

AKA, Lucy Ricardo ... Martha is the CEO for the American Red Cross, North Eastern division. She is a proud member of the Soroptimist International in Yuba-Sutter counties and says “a lot of people are not aware of this, but I had to overcome being very shy.” Now, she says “I feel very challenged when trying to be quiet.” Martha is best known for her funny sense of humor and says she loves cooking, baking and loves, loves, loves children and dogs.”

Pro., Luis Uribe

Luis Uribe a retired Pennsylvania State Police Trooper is one of the owners of “Exer-Son”, a Zumba Fitness studio in Yuba City. Luis was born in Columbia South America and at the age of 13 he immigrated to the U.S. At 14 he joined the So. American Folkkloric Group “Raices”. He has taught dance in Reading, PA and while stationed at Beale AFB, joined the Yuba College Ballet Folklorico and traveled the US and Mexico. He was also a member of “Ixtoles De La Danza”. In 2010 following his passion for music and dance, he became a Zumba instructor. He is currently licensed to teach Zumba, Aqua Zumba and Zumba Toning. He is also a Primary Group Fitness Instructor through AFAA.
