Dr. Wolfson completed his orthopedic surgery training in Canada, and after
an Academic practice as a full-time faculty at USC in Los Angeles, moved
to the San Francisco Bay area. He has recently joined the Rideout Orthopedic Clinic.
Dr. Wolfson completed his fellowship in a field of orthopedic reconstruction
and orthopedic trauma at the University of Toronto specializing in surgical
and nonsurgical treatment of arthritis. He is one of the first to implement
Direct Anterior Hip Approach for hip replacement procedures and specializing
in the area of hip and knee preservation and replacement, both primary
and revisions, knee replacement surgeries, using cutting edge technology,
from custom made implants to computer navigation and robot assisted surgeries.
Dr. Wolfson is also an orthopedic trauma specialist and does most complex
surgeries for fractures and dislocation including treatment of complications
of trauma, joint and limb salvage procedures: deformity corrections, treatment
of non-united fractures, limb lengthening procedures and treatment of
Besides day to day orthopedic surgery, Dr. Wolfson is active in international
humanitarian medical assistance. In 2010 he participated as an orthopedic
surgeon in medical relief in Haiti following the devastating earthquake.
He was a part of the US Navy and operated on the US Navy Ship “Comfort.”
In 2015 he was part of the military field hospital in Nepal following
the Gurke earthquake. Dr. Wolfson is one of the world recognized leaders
in the organization SICOT, where he is a member of The Foundation Board
and Trauma Committee, as well as a member of many other organizations.
He is also an author and chief editor of the first in its kind book,
Orthopedics in Disasters, published by Springer. He is the author of many articles and book chapters.
Dr. Wolfwon is passionate about medical technology. He was visiting fellow
at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, California
and is the holder of a number of patents related to the medical field
and orthopedics in particular.
Dr. Wolfson is very excited about his new position as an attending orthopedic
surgeon and Director of Orthopedic Surgery at Rideout Regional Medical
Center (RRMC). He is a resident of Yuba City and his vision is to make
the Orthopedic Surgery program at RRMC

Dr. Wolfson has succeeded in amateur sport and won National Championships
in boxing in two countries. He loves tennis, music, nature and healthy
food. But more than anything else is people. “Everyone is special unique and beautiful in they own way.”
