Fremont-Rideout Health Group Appoints Administrator of Fremont-Rideout Cancer Center

(YUBA CITY – Calif.) - Theresa Hamilton, CEO, Fremont-Rideout Health Group announced that Susan Vague has been promoted to the position of Administrator of the Fremont-Rideout Cancer Center.

Ms. Vague has been serving as Executive Director of the Cancer Center since opening in 2000.  In addition to her strong leadership and operational management skills, Susan brings clinical skills as she is also a radiation therapist.

She received a Radiologic Technology Diploma from Loma Linda University in California with State of California certification in Radiation Therapy and an American Registered Radiologic Technologist.  She is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technology and the Association of Community Cancer Centers.  She also serves on the Board of Directors for Yuba County Healthcare Initiative, a collaboration of FRHG, UC Davis Health System and Yuba County Department of Health Services to work on lowering the cancer death rate statistics in Yuba County.

In 2003 she was responsible for implementing new technology for cancer treatment as well as the implementation of clinical trials at the cancer center.  In 2005, she was responsible for the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accreditation as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program.

The Fremont-Rideout Cancer Center, located in Marysville, California, is an affiliation with FRHG and UC Davis Health System and offers Medical Oncology (chemotherapy) services, a state-of-the-art Linear Accelerator to provide Radiation Oncology (radiation therapy), clinical trials, a pharmacy, the Library for Life (open to the public), and houses an American Cancer Society office.  In addition to these services, the cancer center has telemedicine capability with UC Davis, an important service that gives Yuba-Sutter physicians access to UC Davis tumor board meetings, grand rounds and other educational events.
