Fremont-Rideout Health Group Hires Administrator for Rideout Memorial Hospital
(YUBA CITY – Calif.) - Theresa Hamilton, CEO, Fremont-Rideout Health Group, announced that Joe Avelino, BSN, MHSA, CPHQ, has been selected as Administrator of Rideout Memorial Hospital starting on August 20, 2007. He was formerly from Whittier Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles County, a 178-bed acute care hospital with a medical staff of approximately 500 physicians representing over 40 specialties, in the dual role of Chief Operating Officer / Chief Nursing Officer. Joe has extensive background in healthcare, specializing in Quality/Risk Management and regulatory compliance, where he has helped several hospitals achieve successful accreditation with Joint Commission’s Conditional/Provisional Accreditation and Center of Medicare/Medicaid’s Services Immediate Jeopardy. He has worked previously for Tenet Healthcare Corporation and Catholic Healthcare West.
Joe has also served 2 years of Active Duty with the U.S. Army, where he coordinated the medical care of injured soldiers returning from Iraq. He was awarded the Army Commendation for meritorious service for developing the Army’s first Community Based Healthcare Organization in Riverside, CA. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from American University, and his Masters in Health Services Administration from George Washington University. He has been appointed as an examiner for the California Governor’s Quality Award and has been selected in Who’s Who in American Nursing. Joe has established himself as a capable, competent and respectable leader, not only in nursing, but also in healthcare and his community.
Rideout Memorial Hospital is a member of the Fremont-Rideout Health Group and is a not-for-profit hospital located in Marysville, has 149 licensed beds. The hospital has a Level III Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, operating room suites, medical/surgical unit, cardiac services and outpatient cardiac services.
