Reaching New Heights In Health Care

Six-stories to be exact! The new hospital building will provide a modern, state-of-the-art healthcare facility to serve the populations of Sutter and Yuba Counties and the outlying region.
June 2014: Marysville's skyline has been changing dramatically over the past year, as the new Rideout Regional Medical Center takes shape. Most recently, a helipad has been installed on the roof of the new 220,000-square-foot building adjacent (and soon to be connected) to Rideout Memorial, which itself is undergoing phased renovations and upgrades. The helipad will allow Life Flights to and from Rideout, which is a Level III Trauma Center, and one of fewer than 50 hospitals in California to receive official verification of its trauma center program by the American College of Surgeons.
In mid-May the short stretch of G Street from 5th to 4th was closed to allow work over the next two months on the new six-story structure and north parking lot that will provide space for 130 vehicles. The renovation and re-purposing of Fremont Medical Center is scheduled to begin in June.
Construction milestones are being matched by major upgrades in technology, effective recruitment of medical talent, and an expansion of the primary and specialty care services offered to patients in Yuba, Sutter and nearby counties.
Since its founding in 1907, non-profit Rideout Health has been committed to the health and well-being of the Yuba-Sutter community. As the only acute-care hospital in these two counties, and the only one to operate an Emergency Department, Rideout has fully embraced its mission of providing care to patients here, regardless of their financial circumstances. In recent years, Rideout has delivered upwards of $50 million annually in un-reimbursed medical care, while at the same time pursuing this massive expansion of facilities and services for the benefit of the community.
Funding for the construction projects, development of a new network of clinics, investments in people and technology, have come from municipal bonds, effective asset management and, quite notably, the philanthropy of the Yuba-Sutter community. Businesses, organizations and individuals have responded generously to past appeals in support of the Cancer Center, purchasing imaging equipment, the expansion of the Emergency Department and other vital enhancements.
"Our community is small but is filled with people with generous hearts," said Carol Ramirez, Senior Vice President who directs the Rideout Health Foundation. "What Rideout is able to provide to our patients is due in no small part to the time, treasure and talent of our donors and volunteers."
The Rideout Health Foundation is launching a Capital Campaign that will ensure support of the new hospital for years to come. Special naming opportunities — from an operating room to a garden area — will be released to the community soon.
Please contact the Foundation at (530) 751-4070 to receive more information about this exciting endeavor.

We're proud of how far we've come, and we're excited about the future."
