Patrick K. Griffith, M.D., leads the cardiac surgical team at The Heart Center at Rideout. Before coming to The Heart Center at Rideout, Dr. Griffith spent six years performing surgery at the prestigious Kettering Cardiovascular Institute in Kettering, Ohio. Griffith is Board Certified by The American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and by the American Board of Thoracic Surgeons in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. His board certification qualifies him to perform transplants, coronary by-pass and valve operations, including complex mitral valve repairs and pediatric heart surgeries and thoracic and vascular surgery. Also Electrophysiologic Surgery - including the Cox-Maze procedure and pain control operations with Transmyocardial Revascularization.

Baron Harper, MD

Dr. Baron Harper recently joined the cardiothoracic surgical team at the Heart Center at Rideout Memorial Hospital . Dr. Harper was most recently chief of the division of cardiothoracic surgery at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL He practiced in Rockford for 14 years and was a partner at the Rockford Surgical Service and clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois Medical School. Dr. Harper is board certified in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American College of Chest Physicians. He performs operations on the heart and lung including coronary artery bypass, heart valve repair and replacement, operations for atrial fibrillation, resection of lung tumors, and minimally invasive lung surgery.
