Cancer Registry

The Cancer Registry is a unique system designed to collect data on persons diagnosed and/or treated with cancer as well as benign (non-cancerous) brain tumors. Information is collected from your medical record when you are first diagnosed andtreated, and then reported to the California Cancer Registry  where data is analyzed for new treatment options and outcomes.The Cancer registry is located in The FRHG Cancer Center.(530) 751-4270, ext 1658, 1677.

Quality Care 

This system ensures that you will receive the highest quality of care by evaluating treatment methods andresults. The Cancer Registry provides valuable information for cancer research studies, ongoing medical education andmedical publications to benefit the progression of your treatment.

Follow Up

Your physicians are contacted on an annual basis to determine your disease status. All registry information isstrictly confidential, and patients are never identified in reports.

State reporting

The Cancer Registry is responsible for the collection, management, and analysis of data on cancerpatients, and for reporting these cases to the California Department of Health. CancerRegistrars work closely with physicians,hospital administrators, and health care practitioners to maintain ongoing records of the cancer patient's history, diagnosis,treatment, and outcome. This information is used for education, lifetime patient follow-up, and research.

Registry data may be used to provide information on specified criteria for physicians; calculate survival rates;provide follow-up information on patients for evaluation of diagnosis, treatment, survival and early detection

Education

Develop educational programs for hospital personnel and educational materials for the public; and analyzereferral patterns.
