Yuba City is located 45 miles north of Sacramento, and is bordered on the east by the Feather River and on the west by the Sacramento River. Enjoy the view of the beautiful Sutter Buttes, the smallest mountain range in North America. In our backyard, residents hike and camp in the nearby Sierra Nevada Mountains, water ski and pleasure boat on the many area rivers and lakes, test their skills on local golf courses, and fish for trout, steelhead, salmon, sturgeon, shad and striped bass in the Feather, Yuba or Sacramento Rivers.

Marysville is our twin city located just across the Feather River, and it boasts the same outdoor pursuits, but has some cultural activities that are all its own. In the spring, we celebrate the Chinese Bok Kai Festival, which draws visitors from as far away as Taiwan and is California's oldest continuing parade. In May, we host the Twin City Slicker's Cattle Drive and the Marysville Stampede, and in the summertime, we observe Independence Day with the Great American Celebration and Speedboat Regatta. Each winter, the annual lighted Christmas Parade marks the start of the Christmas season for Marysville's residents.

While Yuba City-Marysville continues to grow and thrive, we maintain the "small town" feeling that has won us the recognition of Fortune Magazine as the #1 Small Community in California and the #10 Small Community in the entire United States.

Our residents enjoy country life and easy access to recreation and big city life. The Pacific Coast is just a few hours drive to the west and the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Lake Tahoe and some of the world's greatest downhill and cross country skiing areas are just two hours to the east. And, the Sierras are equally beautiful in the summer for horseback riding, camping, hiking and a myriad other activities. For a night out in the "big city," San Francisco is two hours away and Sacramento is a forty-five minute drive south.
