State-of-the-art Surgeons, State-of-the-art Equipment
It’s hard to get state-of-the-art care without state-of-the-art equipment. The Rideout Neurosurgery Center has the latest diagnostic, imaging, and procedural equipment in neurosurgery.
- In neurosurgery there is almost no margin for error. The distance of a millimeter or less can be the difference between complete recovery and permanent functional damage. A remarkable LeicaTM surgical microscope features a compact optical unit that delivers clear and sharply focused images and a modular system design gives the surgeon optimum maneuverability.
- A CUSA™ Ultrasonic Surgical Aspiration System (CUSA ) offers the most advanced feature set of any ultrasonic surgical system on the market, including tissue fragmentation, irrigation, and aspiration.
- An image guided computer assists neurosurgeons in the surgical treatment of brain tumors and lesions. The computer uses data points to create a 3D image of the brain and the tumor, showing the exact location of the growth and guiding the surgeon to it with minimal disturbance to surrounding, healthy issue.
- Chronic Pain Treatment - Rideout Neurosurgeons utilize advanced techniques in the treatment of chronic pain. In one such practice, spinal cord stimulation, electrodes are placed in the spinal canal to block pain signals from reaching the brain. Spinal cord stimulation has been found to be effective in treating chronic pain, phantom limb pain, and reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD).
