Specific Services Available at the Women's Imaging Center

As a diagnostic center that's tailored specially to the unique needs of women, the Women's Imaging Center provides a wide range of imaging services specially for women. These include:

Mammography

It's for very good reason that a mammography screening is recommended every one to two years for women who are 40 or older. That's because successful treatment of breast cancer is often linked to early diagnosis.

Full Field Digital Mammography promises to be a significant improvement over conventional mammography in the early detection of breast cancer. Full field digital mammography incorporates electronics and computers into x-ray mammography methods.

Stereotactic Breast Biopsy

Minimally invasive breast biopsy using imaging that helps doctors make accurate diagnosis for optimal patient management by using computer-generated images to locate breast abnormalities, and the physician can accurately pinpoint and map the area to biopsy without making large incisions.

Osteoperosis Testing

Osteoporosis affects about half of all women age 50 and over. Bone Densitometry is an accurate, painless and quick way to measure bone density. And, if necessary it helps radiologists to recommend the most proper courses of prevention or treatment.

QDR Bone Densitometer

Osteoporosis is a serious medical condition resulting from loss of bone mineral content. Patients with osteoporosis are at high risk for fractures of the spine and hip. Bone densitometry helps identify the degree of bone mineral content loss. Bone densitometry helps guide physicians with treatment decisions.
