WeCare! Peer Navigator Program: New Patient Support
The WeCARE! Community-Based Peer Navigator program provides special support on a one-to-one basis. It matches newly diagnosed cancer patients with trained cancer survivors. The WeCARE! Peer Navigator program is available to any newly diagnosed cancer patient, regardless of where the patient receives treatment.
Peer Navigators are survivors who have been trained to be "cancer coaches." They will guide patients through this journey of unknowns with compassion, sensitivity and confidentiality. They can provide emotional support and direct patients to resources about their disease and treatments. Interested new cancer patients can contact Lorna Yatman, RN, Nurse Navigator at 530 749-4400 ext. 1603.
