Rideout Hospice is providing a FREE Seven-Week Hospice Volunteer Training Class beginning April 4, 2011.
Being a hospice volunteer is one of the most enriching ways someone can give of themselves and their time. Hospice is a program of health care for the terminally ill delivered by a team of professionals and volunteers. Hospice addresses the entire range of medical, emotional, spiritual and practical needs of patients and their families.
Rideout Hospice is looking for people willing to provide a patients’ family or caregiver support or relief in the home — just a helping hand.
Actual time requirements will vary from patient to patient. Hospice provides an extensive training course designed to give volunteers the tools they need to experience a very fulfilling purpose.
Class meets every Monday, April 4 thru May 16, 2011 from 9am-1pm. The course is FREE and will be held at the Fremont Rideout Hospice Conference Center at 939 Live Oak Blvd., in Yuba City.
All applicants are required to complete an Application for Volunteer Services and an Investigative Consumer Report Release, which is processed free of charge. Class size is limited.
