April 22, 2011, 6-7PMAortic Aneurysm and Its TreatmentSpeaker: Andrew Macbeth, MD, FACS, Vascular Surgeon
A thoracic aortic aneurysm is a weakened and bulging area in the upper part of the aorta, the major blood vessel that feeds blood to the body. The aorta, about the thickness of a garden hose, runs from your heart through the center of your chest and abdomen. Because the aorta is the body’s main supplier of blood, a ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm can cause life-threatening bleeding. Although you may never have symptoms, learning you have a thoracic aortic aneurysm can be frightening. Come and learn about the signs, symptoms, family history and treatment.
Andrew Macbeth, MD, FACS , a Board Certified Vascular Surgeon trained in new, less invasive procedures, provides treatment using leading-edge technology to deliver the highest quality vascular care to patients.
Dr. Macbeth will accept patients at the Rideout Specialty Care Center in Penn Valley.
