Leading Cardiologist Joins Rideout Health Group and the Heart Center at Rideout To Practice at the New Fremont-Rideout Specialty Care Center in Penn Valley

An experienced cardiologist has joined the Rideout Health Group (FRHG) and the Heart Center at Rideout. George Broder, MD, FACC, FAHA, a specialist in cardiovascular medicine, has been named to practice at the new Fremont-Rideout Specialty Care Center in Penn Valley.

"We are so pleased to have Dr. Broder join us," said Dr. Robert Plass, Chief Medical Officer, Rideout Health Group. "His expertise in cardiology will contribute substantially to our heart program at the Fremont-Rideout Health Group."

Dr. Broder brings more than 25 years of non-invasive and interventional cardiology to Rideout Health Group. He comes to us from Desert Heart Physicians Medical Group in Palm Springs, California. His expertise includes a full range of consultative cardiology and the management of cardiac diseases; electrocardiography; transthoracic and stress echocardiography; implantation of single and dual chamber pacemakers: and electrical cardioversion.

Dr. Broder is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Cardiovascular Diseases. He graduated from the USC School of Medicine In Los Angeles, and did a fellowship in cardiology at the National Heart Hospital in London, England. Subsequently, he served as Commander in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) and was Chief of Cardiology at the USPHS Hospital in Boston, Mass.  He later began a private practice in cardiology in the Los Angeles area and from 1993-1999, he was an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Broder is an accomplished violinist, playing with the Coachella Valley Symphony Orchestra for many years. He will be settling in the Penn Valley area, and will begin seeing patients in May.

The Rideout Specialty Care Center is located at 11386 Pleasant Valley Road, Penn Valley, CA.
