Introducing the Fremont-Rideout Teen Leadership Council. TLC provides students an opportunity to participate in healthcare Edu.

Thirty area high school students were chosen by high school administrators and Rideout Foundation board members to be installed as members of the 2010 Teen Leadership Council (TLC).

    The Rideout TLC provides students a unique chance to:

•  Enjoy privileged opportunities to meet hospital staff, physicians and FRHG senior leaders in order to gain insight into a career in health care;

•  Job shadow FRHG healthcare professionals;

•  Participate in philanthropic activities;

•  Help plan and host events which benefit the Rideout Foundation

Members of the TLC are expected to:

•  Attend monthly meetings;

•  Participate in seasonal activities that are sanctioned by the Rideout Foundation;

•  Act as spokespersons for the Rideout Foundation and liaisons for their school.

Congratulations to our 2010 TLC Members including:

Sutter High School: Jeneca Krupp, Beth Lowden, Dayton Pierce, Breanna Zoellin

Marysville Charter Academy: Kelsey Cena, Elisa Gorbis, Kenzi Kelly, Arely Mendoza

Yuba City High School: Sukhjit Gosal, Jose Chavez, Prince Paul Malhi, Angelica Lopez

Marysville High School: Briana Cameron, Brian Price, Jim Vang, Brittney Diaz, Cheyenne Kirksey

River Valley: Gabrielle Coomes, Samantha Edwards, Elyse Dewey, Ranjit Chohan, Jaskaran Sahota

Wheatland: Cameron Bushling, Jessica Carpenter, Joshua Peterson, Amber Vore

Faith Christian High School: Martha DeLaVega, Justine Ekdawy, Spencer Iskikian, Courtney Taylor

                The TLC was established in an effort to engage young adults who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and a strong desire to make a difference in our community. Membership is an opportunity open to students who excel in academics, who are leaders in their school and have an interest in healthcare. Membership in the TLC is free.

    In 2009 the Teen Leadership Council organized and hosted the OODLES of NOODLES fundraiser. Over $6,000 was raised to benefit five Rideout Same Day Surgery rooms. TLC's efforts helped create a more soothing environment for patients to lessen the stress associated with surgery. The patients will now enjoy aesthetically pleasing rooms, with televisions and DVD players.
