Yuba City, APRIL 1, 2014, Rideout Health is providing a free CHE class "Understanding and Coping With Dementia" on
April 17, 2014 beginning at 6P. The class will be held at the Fremont-Rideout Conference Center, 989 Plumas Street, Yuba City (across from Fremont Medical Center). RSVP is required, call 751.4245.
Class Description: Caring for a loved one with dementia poses many challenges for families and caregivers. People with dementia have a progressive brain disorder that makes it more and more difficult for them to remember things, think clearly, communicate with others, or take care of themselves. In addition, dementia can cause mood swings and even change a person's personality and behavior. Our speaker, Monica Santos, LVN, will provide some practical strategies for understanding and coping with dementia. The course will define and explain Dementia and offer strategies for holding off dementia and helping loved ones who have dementia.
Monica Santos has spent the last 20 years as a caregiver and LVN specializing in Alzheimer's and Dementia care. She is a Resident Care Manager at The Gardens in Yuba City. She has been involved with the Alzheimer's Association and the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
Space is limited so please RSVP by calling 530 751-4245.
