YUBA CITY, July 29, 2013 -- On August 12, Rideout Community Health Education will present Back to School: Healthy Kids & Teens.
Getting your kids ready to start the school year involves more than finding the perfect backpack – it means safeguarding their health so they'll be physically and mentally ready for the challenges of heading back to school.
Making wise food choices can lead to a lifetime of good health, including better self-esteem and effective weight management.
This class will give children, teens, families and the community at large the information they need to make good food and lifestyle choices throughout their lives.
Allison Tallyn, a Registered Dietitian and nutrition expert will show you how easy it is to make small changes in your diet that can yield big results. This includes making healthy food choices for your whole family both at snack time and meal time.
But food is just part of the equation. Dan Duran, a certified personal trainer will teach your child or teen and family how to become more active, finding physical activities that are fun and don't feel a bit like a workout, and how to feel better about yourself, even if you're a "work in progress." Dan was voted Yuba-Sutter Best Fitness Instructor, 2012. RSVP required. Space is limited.
Classes are held at Rideout Conference Center, 989 Plumas Street, Yuba City (across from Fremont Hospital) Refreshments. Space is Limited. RSVP by Calling 530 751-4245.
