The first ever Holiday Hoops Classic, a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, will be held Saturday, December 15 at 10 a.m. at the Yuba City High School Gymnasium, Clark Avenue in Yuba City.
Organized by Garrett Wallace, a Senior at Sutter Union High School and the 2012 Rideout Health Foundation's Teen Leadership Council, the event will be hosted by Yuba City High School, as a community service project.
Holiday Hoops will benefit Rideout Health Foundation Scholarship Fund. The fund awards deserving students who will be tomorrows caring health professionals, monetary scholarships to continue their educations.
The registration donation for the Holiday Hoops Classic is $30 per team, and includes a free T Shirt with registration. There are "brackets" for nearly all ages, including:
- Junior Varsity (Grades 9-10)
- Varsity Boys (Grades 11-12)
- Girls (Grades 9-12)
- 18+ Co-ed
- 30+ Co-ed
- Middle School Co-ed (Grades 7-8)
Local businesses are invited to sponsor a team or make a donation to the Rideout Foundation, which will collect the proceeds from the event on behalf of the Scholarship Fund. For more information on sponsorship opportunities call 530 751-4070.
