Dr. Douglas Tolley is no doubt dear to the hearts of thousands of Yuba-Sutter
families; he has delivered more than 5,000 babies to them since moving
to the area in 1993.
Born and reared in Darby, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, he graduated
from Penn State University in 1968. He earned his medical degree at Jefferson
Medical College in Philadelphia, performed his internship and residency
at David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air force Base, and was Board certified
in Ob-Gyn in 1979.
In 1990, Dr. Tolley retired from the Air Force with the rank of Colonel,
after more than 22 years of service in Germany, Utah and California. After
practicing for several years in Sacramento, he moved to Yuba City and
has been on the medical staff at Rideout Health since then, serving several
terms as Chair of the Ob-Gyn Department, as Chief of Staff and on numerous
