Jon R. Pritchett, MD practice family medicine at Rideout Health’s
Primary Care Clinic at Sierra College in Grass Valley. Previously, he
was associated with Dignity Family Health in Grass Valley, and in 2011
was voted Doctor of the Year in The Union’s annual “Best of
Nevada County” poll.
Board-certified in Family Medicine since 2004, Dr. Pritchett completed
his four-year residency in that field at Mercy Medical Center in Redding,
CA, during which time he gained additional experience working in local
clinics and health centers.
He earned his medical degree in 2001 and was a member of the Alpha Omega
Alpha Medical School Honor Society at the University Of Illinois Chicago
College Of Medicine at Rockford. He returned to the University as an Associate
Clinical Professor of Family Medicine from 2006 to 2009, while also serving
as staff physician at Mendota Community Hospital nearby.
Dr. Pritchett received his undergraduate degree in Sports Science from
the University of Richmond, which he attended on a full student-athlete
scholarship. His interest and participation in sports has continued throughout
his life. He is president of Bicyclists of Nevada County, a mountain bike
coach at Grass Valley Charter School and a doctor for the Ski Patrol at
Sugar Bowl Resort. In addition to skiing, mountain and road biking, he
enjoys hiking, camping and reading. He and his wife, have three children.
