Physician Bio

Daniel J. Brink, MD, now part of the Rideout Primary Care Clinic at Plumas St., in partnership with UC Davis Health System, has been practicing family medicine in Yuba City since 1994. A native of South Africa, Dr. Brink received his medical education at the University of Pretoria there. After completing his internship in Kroonstad, he served in the South African Defense Force, volunteering to provide medical care to civilians in a rural community.

Following his National Service, he was a general practice anesthetist and surgeon at Goldfield's Hospital in Carletonville, a small gold mining town near Johannesburg. Moving to Canada, he continued his service to rural communities as an anesthetist/surgeon at United Church/Baie Verte Hospital in Baie Verte, Newfoundland (population 1,300) and in his private family practice in Barriere, British Columbia, a logging town, (pop. 1,770).

Dr. Brink completed his residency in family practice at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, and has been Board Certified in this field since 1994.

Dr. Brink's comprehensive family practice provides healthcare for patients of all ages from newborns to the elderly, including minor office surgeries, psychiatric care and health maintenance.

In 2000-2001, Dr. Brink was assistant clinical professor at UC Davis medical school in the Department of family practice, and was program director for the Yuba City satellite campus. In 2002 served as chief of the medical staff for Rideout Health.

Dr. Brink is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Yuba-Sutter Medical Society. From 1999 to 2004, he was president of the Yuba Sutter Independent Practice Association.
