Hospice Volunteers are a special group of people who are available to provide supportive services for patients with a terminal illness and their caregivers. Volunteers are an essential part of the Hospice Team. Some services that Hospice Volunteers provide are:

  • Assisting in office duties, filing, correspondence, etc.
  • Helping with personal correspondence, reading, or just listening
  • Providing transportation for physician office visits and treatments
  • Relieving a caregiver for short periods of time
  • Visiting with patients

Hospice is looking for volunteers willing to provide a patient's family or caregiver support or relief in the home — a helping hand. They offer a mandatory eight-week hospice volunteer training class, Hearts of Gold, which provides an extensive training course designed to give volunteers the tools they need to experience this fulfilling purpose. If you're interested in volunteering, call (530) 790-3006.
