Community Relations

Essential to our mission is community involvement, and Rideout Health serves the community by supporting programs that improve the health of our community. By initiating outreach programs that address health concerns of the Yuba-Sutter community and nearby region.

The Community Relations Department builds partnerships to:

  • Offer screenings and health education to the community
  • Facilitate research to improve patient care
  • Provide charity health services
  • Host Free Community Health Education classes - for information on upcoming classes call 530.751.4280

Community Screenings

Rideout Health regularly offers health screenings to the public at little or no charge by participating and hosting health fairs. And, Prostate Screenings through the Cancer Center at Rideout, on occasion. Rideout Health also offers low-cost Mammogram programs during Pink October. These screenings may include:

  • Cholesterol
  • Glucose
  • Blood pressure
  • Height and weight with BMI (body mass index)
  • Prostate screening
  • Low Cost Mammograms

Speaker's bureau

Rideout Health is available to visit corporations and community groups, clubs or organizations, and address audiences on a range of topics including:

  • The Rideout Foundation
  • Vascular Surgery with Dr. Andrew Macbeth, Surgeon
  • Heart Surgery with Drs' Harper or Griffith, Heart Surgeons
  • Healthy Heart with Dr. George Broder, Cardiologist - In the Penn Valley area
  • Robert Chason, CEO – Rideout Rising
  • Lung Surgery with Dr. Royce Calhoun

Rideout Health can provide educational information at health fairs and challenge participants to learn more about prevention of disease including cancer, diabetes, heart, wellness, nutrition and more.

  • Rideout Hospice Grief Support Groups provide support for people experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one. For more information call 790-3006.

Grief Support Group - Thursday evenings from 6:30-8pm on the following dates:

March 5 - April 23

June 4 - July 23

August 6 - September 24

November 4 - January 14

Location: Fremont-Rideout Conference Center, 989 Plumas St., Yuba City

The age limit is 18 or older. Should you need support during the time when there is no grief support please call Hospice for appropriate referrals. In addition, you can reach out to your insurance company for one on one support or you can seek out support at Yuba Sutter Mental Health 530.822.7200 if you do not have insurance. Please remember all those who love and care about you.
