Intrinsic to our mission is community involvement, and FRHG serves the community by supporting programs that improve the health of our community. By initiating outreach programs that address health concerns of the Yuba-Sutter community and nearby region.

The Community Relations Department builds partnerships to:

  • Offer screenings and health education to the community
  • Facilitate research to improve patient care
  • Provide charity health services

Community Screenings

Fremont-Rideout Health Group regularly offers health screenings to the public at little or no charge through our Diabetes Health Faire and our Bless Your Heart Walk & Faire. And, Prostate Screenings through the Cancer Center at Rideout, on occasion. The Fremont-Rideout Health Group also offers low-cost Mammogram programs during Pink October. These screenings may include:

  • Cholesterol
  • Glucose
  • Blood pressure
  • Height and weight with BMI (body mass index)
  • Prostate screening
  • Low Cost Mammograms

Speaker's bureau

The Fremont-Rideout Health Group is available to visit corporations and community groups, clubs or organizations, and address audiences on a range of topics including:

  • The Fremont-Rideout Foundation
  • 21st Century Medicine with Terri Hamilton, CEO
  • Urology Care/Men's Health with Dr. Lionel Foster, Urologist
  • Vascular Surgery with Dr. Andrew Macbeth, Surgeon
  • Heart Surgery with Drs' Harper or Griffith, Heart Surgeons
  • Healthy Heart with Dr. George Broder, Cardiologist - In the Penn Valley area
  • Pain Management with Dr. Muhammad Alghannam, Pain Management Specialist

Health Fairs/Events

Fremont-Rideout Health Group can provide educational information at health fairs and challenge participants to learn more about prevention of disease including cancer, diabetes, heart, wellness, nutrition and more.

Educational or Fundraising events include:

  • Bless Your Heart Walk, every February at the Mall at Yuba City
  • Fairway to Health Golf Tournament, every May at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club
  • Lights of Remembrance: Hospice
  • Cancer Survior Celebration - June
  • Evening of Appreciation, every November (location varies)
  • Dance With Our Stars, every April at Colusa Casino Resort

  • Fremont-Rideout Hospice Grief Support Groups provide support for people experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one.

Tuesday's:
10-11:30a at The Fountains Conference Room, 1260 Williams Way, Yuba City, CA.
7-8:30p at Fremont Medical Center, First Floor Conference Room (by Admissions), 970 Plumas St., Yuba City

Thursday's:
4:30-6p - Teens Only. Open to ALL High School students at Feather River Academy, 1895 Lassen

Fremont-Rideout Children's Bereavement Camp - one time yearly.
